Here in the Atlanta vicinity there is hardly a day that passes where someone, wonder about how and the way things work. Sometimes they think about what a person might do for work and how they go about performing their duties and what different things means. Many have wondered and the question has been posed a lot and that is, “What exactly is a locksmith?” This following article is going to try to answer that for you in Atlanta and elsewhere for those of you who are curious about the skilled laborer that is known as The Locksmith.

Today it has become impossible to live with this ignorant notion. The reason is that today the world is entirely different than it was in the 18th century because at that time the environmental impact of cars was not considered.

The process of evolution of cars is very fascinating, and advancement in technology has brought great changes in auto industry. When the first car was invented, it was a steam based vehicle. The major developments in auto industry were made when the steam engine was replaced with electric motors. The cars which use the combination of different engines are known as hybrid cars and the first hybrid cars is the German Porsche. Porsche had an internal combustion engine for spinning a generator. As a result of internal combustion, the power was provided to the electric motors placed in the hubs of the wheel. It was designed to travel up to 40 miles with battery alone.

The basic concept of two kinds of engines for propulsion power was laid down by Porsche; these engines include gasoline/diesel and electric engines.

Cars based on gasoline, diesel or electric motors have one drawback or the other. The main concern about using gas or diesel engine is the environmental hazards it poses. Ironically, only fossil fuels give the maximum power per pound, but their reserves are slacking and prices are going up all the time. The electric cars though are environment friendly, with no hazardous pollution by-products, take a lot of time to recharge. Their performance end is also not very high.

What made hybrid cars such a success is the fact that it combines the strengths of both kinds of engines. It produces less pollution as compared to gasoline/diesel cars. It is more cost effective, and gives better performance than the electric cars. The components of a typical hybrid car are: ? Fuel tank for the gasoline engine; ? A small but efficient gasoline engine; ? An electric motor/generator; ? A set of batteries that act like a fuel tank of an electric engine; ? Transmission system, which turns the wheels.

Hybrid cars are of two types including, parallel and series. The difference between the two kinds of car is that the parallel hybrid car can use either an electric motor or gasoline engine for turning the transmission, however, in a series hybrid car, the transmissions to the wheels is generated by electric motors only. The gasoline engine also functions to charge the batteries of electric motor.

Hybrid cars feature efficient engines; small sized, regenerative breaking that makes the electric engine to act as generator; fuel-efficiency; advanced aerodynamics that lowers the drag co-efficient and light weight materials that reduces the weight of the car. The fuel efficiency of the car is brought by periodic engine shut-off. Today, hybrid cars are also entitled as green cars as they are environmental friendly. The advanced technology installed in these cars is incomparable. Therefore, hybrid cars are highly-designed and really competent.

The United States driver’s education program has standard requirements. Each state may add specifics requirements incorporating features that are necessary to obtain a legal driving license. The US requires first time drivers to complete X-amount of hours taking a course for driving. Learning about drivers ed has many advantages.

Drivers who have too many tickets or accidents can be required to take a refresher class. Every year the guidelines can change and road rules requiring a refresher course. Drivers’ training, is on the road experience and time learning. The physical exam of driving is required in all states but periods can differ.

You may have to submit a time and travel log for documented proof. This is essential to teaching a driver and for the driver to have experience before making decisions by their selves. A certain amount of muscles memories used when driving. Reacting to a situation while driving may have to be a reaction without time to reason.

Some schools have equipped their driver’s education department with driving simulators to obtain maximum driving time outside the busy highways. This is a great way to learn when living in a busy city keeping the young driver out of dangerous traffic.

Statistically, the youngest drivers are in a high-risk group. More sixteen year olds are in accidents than any other group. A program called, “graduated license programs” developed to help bring the statistics down. Not all states offer this program.

Coming in second are the older drivers who experience loss of vision, reacting slowly, and hearing loss. Statistics prove that the accidents relate to abilities for driving. They may have to take a drivers test before renewing their state license.

Some of the differences in the states are the periods. California has classes seven hours a day and no more in that day. They are only thirty minutes long and require watching five tapes, film, or video. Total class time is one hundred eighty minutes.

New York first requires a learners permit and enrollment in class. The permit must be for a time of six months. Certificates issued for twenty hours of driving time then fill out an application for junior driver’s license. Once completed the seventeen year old upgrades to a class D license. States form rules to fit their statistics and correct problems being cause from drivers.

Texas has a special license for those with unique hardships. At age, 15 a teen can take the classroom courses and pass the written exam. They hold a valid hardship license for 6 months and complete the driving time. Turning 16, they apply for a C license and turning 17 for a Class A license or B license. They will have to prove the hardship facing the teen in order to get this license.

The best information about drivers ed is through your local department. Driving the busy US roads is a big responsibility to take on. The more education you have the safer you are for all around you. The driving language used between drivers translates from experience on the road.

It was running great, never had a problem with it before, and then all of a sudden it started to smoke and puttered out. After limping off the road, from what my customer could see, all of the automatic transmission fluid was gone. Transmissions can’t smoke like an engine, but when a transmission leaks three or four quarts of fluid on the red hot exhaust pipe, it smokes and can even catch fire. It also spreads all over the bottom and back of the vehicle. With that in mind, it is time to call AAA or a tow truck and have your vehicle towed to a reliable transmission shop for a diagnosis.

Let’s say it is a 1999 Ford F-350 pick up truck with the 7.3L diesel engine and a 4R100 automatic transmission that you were using. The 4R100 is a Ford transmission and is known for puking automatic transmission fluid out the front pump seal when it’s working hard in the hot weather. Simply put, the cooling system is the enemy in this situation. This article is not about cooling system repairs or updates, though, which is the remedy for the front pump leakage problem, but it is about choices.

When a transmission dumps the fluid in an unceremonious manner all over the road, it means that the front pump seal broke and no longer is ‘holding fluid’. This is because the transmission loses most of its cooling ability under heavy loads and eventually, usually at the wrong time, the seal starts to leak transmission fluid just like a screen-door in a submarine would leak water. The problem is correctable with a good update kit and some added cooling.

The transmission has to be removed to fix a front pump leak and then the transmission shop must remove the transmission to fix the leak as well as inspect the transmission for damage. There is a good chance that the transmission has some significant wear in it, or enough wear to justify a remanufactured transmission. With that in mind, depending on how much wear and what is worn, a choice has to be made on how you want to fix your truck. You can fix the current transmission, buy a used transmission or have a rebuilt transmission installed in the vehicle. Everything depends on what your plans for the vehicle are. My advice is don’t cheapen out here by buying the cheapest transmission available.

My recommendation will revolve around the fact that most of the time this happens when: A) It is a work truck carrying lots of weight B) The fluid is damaged from getting too hot all the time, taking the elasticity out of the front seal C) The pump failed. It is made of aluminum, which is a soft metal.The bottom line is that, if you do nothing other than regular errands and drive in a normal manner, at least make sure you buy a rebuilt transmission that is updated not to overheat under heavy load conditions. If this is a commercial vehicle, which is usually overloaded with just the tools and equipment on the truck, it is time to get serious. Also, the pumps we use in our shop were rebuilt with a metal sleeve where the gears wear the aluminum pump body, thus preventing a repeat problem.

Getting serious involves buying a rebuilt transmission with the most effective update kit installed and add a couple of external auxiliary transmission coolers to the transmission cooling system. Finally, use full synthetic automatic transmission fluid as a refill. Synthetic transmission fluid is like an added plus. It allows your rebuilt transmission to last its longest and function at its best. Don’t forget to ask about the warranty because it is usually a good indicator of how much confidence the transmission supplier has in his merchandise. Meaning, a short-term one year warranty does not mean much when you can get a long- term three or five year guarantee on it.
