Vintage cars are of great historical value. You would often see that the car owners driving the vintage cars have a proud smile on their face. Therefore it is very important to value to car correctly while getting the vintage car insurance. These types of cars are categorized into three types. The cars manufactured before 1903 are called Veteran cars. The cars built between 1903 and 1933 are called Vintage Cars. The cars built between 1933 and 1973 are called classic cars.

As a thumb rule, all cars which are more than 35 years old can be termed as classic cars. It is very important to insure your vintage car against all kinds of mis-happenings. Even though all car insurance companies will be ready to give you an insurance policy for you vintage car, it is recommended that you get the policy from a reputed company who specializes in vintage car insurance.

It is also very important to find the right insurance agency for your classic car insurance since this company should be able to get a proper value to your precious car. The insurance company will examine your car and put a value known as agreed upon value of the car. This aspect of the policy is critical since this is the amount of money which you will get from the insurance company in case of theft beyond recovery or total loss in an accident.

The insurance company will also consider a few other things while processing your application for insurance. These considerations impact your policy premium and coverage. These considerations include the age and model of your car, the age of the driver, driving history of the primary driver, maintenance of the car, mileage of the car, repair costs etc. They would expect that the car is maintained nicely and kept in a covered garage under lock.

Most likely, the mileage of vintage cars is pretty low since these cars are not used for daily commuting. These cars are usually driven for pleasure or for show-off in exhibitions. Mostly, the insurance agencies put a limit on mileage of around 5000 miles per year. Vintage cars are very precious for their owners therefore it is imperative that they get comprehensive coverage for their classic cars.

The price of car insurance policies fluctuate on a regular basis. The rates that one company is offering this month may not be the same rates they were advertising last month. Comparing car insurance rates is an extremely good idea if you want to save as much money as you possibly can. Of course, in today’s economic crisis, people are searching for ways to save in every aspect of their lives.

Why should you pay more for car insurance when you don’t have to? There’s no point in that when you have other options available to you! You might not be aware of it, but chances are your car insurance policy is more expensive than it has a right to be. Fortunately for you, there’s several things you can do to lower your car insurance rates. Even though you were quoted a certain price when you signed up, this price will fluctuate depending on a number of different criteria.

One of the things that will determine how much you have to pay would be if you were involved in an accident recently. Accidents may cause you hundred of dollars extra when they occur. Additionally thing like speeding and seat belt tickets will show when your driving record is examined and will also be determining factors in how much insurance will cost you. An extended lapse in insurance will also add a great deal to how much you will have to pay; in fact in some cases, you may be charged an extra registration fee when you sign up.

One can get a discount during insurance even if their driving record has a history of any collision. People should compare the rates to get the cheapest deal. people having a decent driving record should also do some research on the prices available to get a fair deal. Some companies show that they are the cheapest car insurance available but the truth might just the opposite.

It is not binding for the customer to stay with the insurance company. One should always compare the prices after a gap of a couple of months. Several companies give a discount if the customers take the policy online. There are some companies who give a discount if the customers take the policy on the phone. One should always inquire about the yearly cost of the policy as some companies tend change the monthly amount after a couple of months. The customer must know this.

You should always make sure you are comparing like objects. If you don’t you may find out the hard way that there were nothing alike. For instance, one company may offer rates that are significantly cheaper, however, this company may be assuming a $1,000 deductible while the other company was only asking for a $500 deductible.

People must always compare prices while taking the car insurance. One can find many companies from various sources like the internet or from people living in the locality. One can always save money if he or she compares the prices while taking a car insurance. People always want the lowest price for their car insurance and comparing the prices can help you to take a fair deal.

Various new gadgets for entertainment are being developed. There are many new products being launched in the car audio market. We come across various new car audio accessories like auto radios, speakers and other accessories.

Everyone wishes to have the best quality sound system in his car. Drivers love to listen to good quality music while driving. Ipods and MP3 players have become very popular as they can store thousands of songs at a time.

You can use these devices to store songs by connecting these to a computer and transferring music files to them. You can then connect these to a port in your car audio system. This will allow you to play these stored songs if your car player supports the gadgets.

Satellite radios are used a lot in vehicles. You can run all types of radio stations using these radios. You can tune in to sports, music, news and various others categories available. Some manufacturers have the satellite radios preinstalled too.

Many times, the owners do not like the original speakers and accessories that are factory fitted in the vehicle. They go for custom accessories and systems for them. Sub woofers are useful for adding more bass to the music. You can order any custom speakers for your car.

Whenever you buy any car audio, auto radios or other accessories, make sure you store the receipt for future needs. Defects can appear in such accessories at any point of time. If you have the receipt, you can go to the dealer and ask for free replacement or repair.

Car audio accessories can make your journey a lot enjoyable but make sure that you are not distracted by it. Safety is most important while driving any vehicle. So you must use all the audio accessories in way that is enjoyable and safe at the same time.

Car owners love to get their car customized and add different accessories to give their vehicle a unique look. There are different ways by which a person can buy cheap car accessories. You can find some useful tips below about how to do it.

You can also get opinions about car accessories from various automobile forums. You can make a forum thread seeking advice about what to buy for your vehicle. Many people will give you advice about what to buy and places where you can get it cheap.

There are a lot of places where you can do online research before buying car accessories like auto radios, speakers or music players. You can find various online stores and make a comparison between the features and prices offered by them.

Various kinds of speakers are available in the market. You can scout for woofer, tweeter, mid speakers and other types. You should choose the one depending upon your needs as each one is different and produces a different sound level.

Amplifiers should be of high quality. They help amplify the small audio signals and pass them to speakers. Different signals are then balanced properly by the speaker according to the output settings made. Thus a balanced sound output is produced.

You can also ask for bigger discounts from the seller if you are a group of buyers. You may be asked to order the Minimum Order Quantity for being eligible for discounts. You need to buy the minimum quantity that is considered bulk by the merchant.

Before buying any car accessories, make sure you check out the quality of the products and their details to find whether they suit your needs or not. Before buying sound systems, speakers or seating accessories, check for the warranty period so that you do not have any problem getting repairs done.

Finding a great auto repair shop can be quite a daunting task. It is important to know exactly what you are looking for. Here are a few things to help you know what to ask and what to look or as you begin your search for a good auto repair shop.

The first thing that I look for when I look for a great auto repair shop is great customer service. If the auto shop can?t communicate well with the customer, it doesn?t matter how much they charge, I would never work with them. The customer needs to know what is going on at all times with their car so communication and customer service is my number one priority.

One of the great things about the Internet is that it offers great recommendations for different repair shops right where you live. You can find out a lot about a repair shop by looking through reviews on them.

When you slowly narrow down your search also check out the experience and background that a company has. Usually you can find this information out on their website or with a quick call.

When it comes to auto repair, a lower price on a part doesn?t mean that it will be less expensive. If the part is too cheap, you really might not even be able to rely on it. Find a good auto repair shop that will be able to talk about different prices and services for the one part. You really need to have good communication when it comes to repairing your car.

Look around online and find auto car shops and numbers. Call around and ask them for possible references, labor rates, warranty information, policies on customer satisfaction, and certifications. These are all important key elements that good auto repair shops know.

Warranty information is really important to know as well. It can give you the satisfaction you need when you drive away that you have just bought a part that was well worth your money.

Also ask them about possible certifications that their mechanics have. Certifications will show how qualified the mechanics are too.

Myth #1: Brake dust is the reason my brakes are squeaking. Fact: Squeaky Brakes is never caused by brake dust. Brake Dust is caused by simple using your brakes and the brake pad (or brake shoe) wearing down over time. Some of the brake pad/shoe will show up on the brake rotor (or drum) as dust, yet this dust does not cause the brakes to squeak.

Myth #2: Where I live emissions testing is not required, so why do I need a catalytic converter? Fact: If your vehicle had a catalytic converter on it when you purchased most likely you need one on your vehicle. Catalytic Converters are also required by the Federal Government. They are located on the exhaust of your car or truck and its main purpose is to remove unburned air and fuel mixture leftover from your engine before it is released into the air. Catalytic Converters are a good tool to help to environment clean but also they also are used to give valuable information on how well your engine is running.

Myth #3: Cars are so reliable; If it ain’t broke don’t fix it Fact: This strategy might work in the short term, but over the life of your vehicle it costs less to follow the recommended maintenance schedules. The reason following the recommended service intervals is less expensive is when a part completely fails it often damages other related or connected parts. It is far better to replace a worn, but still working part, than to wait for the expense of complete failure. Oh, and did I mention parts almost always fail at the worst and most inconvenient times, and often result in a towing charge as well as repairs.

Myth #4: More Octane the best Gasoline. Fact: Each vehicle has a recommended octane level. It does not help your car or truck if you put in higher level octane gasoline, actually it can sometimes do more harm than good. Octane rating is the resistance of gasoline to detonation. Most high performance vehicles have higher compression ratios which makes then more likely to have detonation. Because of this they require higher octane gas. If your vehicle has a lower compression ratio higher octane fuels were not designed to be used with your engine. Be sure to find out the recommended octane level for you vehicle and stay with that octane ranking.

Myth #5: You must have the dealer service your vehicle so you don’t void your warranty. Fact: By law the dealer cannot require you to maintain or repair your vehicle at their facility. Where-ever you choose to maintain or repair your vehicle, you must follow the recommended intervals for service the manufacturer requires as outlined in your owner?s manual during the warranty period.

Myth #6: Performance Mufflers are only for going fast. Fact: In order to improve gas mileage and increase power the restrictions on your engine must be made more efficient. One of the best ways to accomplish this is to get a high performance exhaust system. With larger diameter exhaust piping and a free flowing muffler you will experience greatly improve gas mileage, more power, and even lower engine temperatures. Also, your exhaust sound will be greatly improved and that is always good.

Myth #7: My engine will stay clean if gasoline with additives is used. Fact: The percentage of additives in the gasoline is so small that it is not possible to keep your engine clean. Because of the combustion process, carbon is left on valves and injectors which can hurt engine performance. By having a regular fuel system cleaning, your engine can run more efficiently and buildup of carbon can be removed from your engines valves and fuel injectors.

Myth #8: Restarting the engine uses more gas than idling. Fact: It takes almost no additional fuel to restart a warm engine. All the new hybrid vehicles are taking advantage of this and shutting down the engine at stop lights. Back when cars had carburetors and were hard to start or flooded regularly there may have been a grain of truth, but no longer.

Myth #9: If you top off your oil from time to time you never have to change it. Fact: Over time oil breaks down and degrades. In addition to lubricant, automotive oil is designed to capture and suspend impurities. The additives isn the oil are what eventually break down, and it is also the additives that make the oil so effective. The reason the oil turns black is due to the contaminates in the used oil. In order to ensure long life for your engine, it is import to change your oil regularly as well as the oil filter.

Myth #10: On cold days it is best to let you car idle and warm up. Fact: Modern oils work just fine on cold and hot days. Also, your car’s engine will reached its designed temperature on its own without idling. By driving moderately once inside the car the car’s engine will reach to desired temperature without any damage to the motor.

Myth #11: The higher the coolant/antifreeze ratio to water the better. Fact: Coolant / antifreeze works best at a 50/50 ratio. Coolant is purchased as a concentrate and should have an equal amount of water added to perform best. Antifreeze/Coolant (Ethylene glycol) needs to be mixed with water to obtain the necessary properties used for cooling the engine. Neither fluid on its own has a low enough freezing point or a high enough boiling point. Coolant like all other fluids breaks down as well as retains impurities and becomes less effective over time. The engine and radiator should be flushed and refilled with fresh coolant periodically.
