In an age where everyone holds a microphone called social media, you probably know more than one person with a blog. If anything, the rise of influencers has taught the world that everyone, from a kid who loves reviewing tech, to a twenty-something with a passion for fashion, can find an audience online—and can turn their influence into a living.

If you’ve toyed with the idea of selling a product, or sharing your unique knowledge with the world, now is the time to do it. It’s never been easier to create your own unique, beautiful, footprint online—if you have a vision, in just a handful of minutes you can create a beautiful website to host your passions. How, you ask? I’m an author who loves to share my tips to achieving your wildest dreams. When I decided to turn that expertise into posts, the first place I turned was Squarespace. Why? They have the best designs, the easiest interface, and they also work with lots of other brands to make the website creation process as easy as possible. It’s truly a one-stop-shop. If you’re ready to transfer the vision in your mind into a page on the web, follow the steps below.

Pick your passion.

First things first, what’s your website going to host? Are you going to sell products? Are you going to post about your cake mug recipes? Start off by creating a mission statement that describes your brand, and what you hope to contribute to the worldwide galaxy that is the internet. Know you want to start something, but aren’t sure what it should be? Find a full in-depth guide to finding your passion here.

Buy a domain.

In my opinion, this is the best part. Squarespace offers domain services, so as soon as you find the right name for you and your brand, you can buy and register the URL ASAP. Even better? When you’re done, you can create your logo right on Squarespace too.

Choose a template.

Luckily, the Squarespace design templates do almost all of the work for you (yay). You can literally just replace your words with the ones written on the template if you so choose. Alternatively, it’s also incredibly easy to put your own spin on things by tweaking the design features. It’s amazing how much changing your site’s background color, or post color, can transform its overall look.

Start your e-mail list.

Squarespace offers tools to help you easily create an e-mail associated with your domain name (so you can look legit). It’s also connected to MailChimp, the platform that will help you make professional-grade emails in a snap (PS. This is what Newsette uses to make their mail!). Set this up, and you’re one step closer to forming an audience for your new venture.

Decide if you want to sell products.

If you have a product to sell, it’s incredibly easy to do so using Squarespace’s easy interface. They take care of everything, from tracking inventory to payment to sales data. With Squarespace, anyone can become an e-retailer.

Start creating!

Once your website’s skeleton is looking good, it’s time to put some meat on those bones in the form of beautiful posts. Disclaimer: Making post drafts will become addictive, because they’ll just look so good. You’ll have dozens of posts/products waiting to be uploaded in no time.

Final step- Let us know what you’ve made! Comment on any of Newsette’s articles on newsette.com with your new Squarespace site’s URL, so the Newsette community can become your first readers!
