We’re all guilty of binge-watching an entire season of a show in one day.. no need to deny it. Whenever a new episode of our favorite shows drops, it’s an exciting day in our office (and the day after when we talk about it). This week’s “HQ Hearts” is dedicated to all of our favorite programs, just in time for you to start a new one for the summer. Comment your favorites below and we’ll check them out this weekend.

  1. Project Runway. The amount of pleasure it gives me to watch talented people making clothes is definitely unhealthy–but this show is the best escape after a long day. I love seeing what the judges think about the outfits and if we agree (sometimes our opinions are way off), and the only bad thing about my obsession is that I always end up opening shopping taps on my computer while I watch.
  2. The Bold Type. I love seeing how the editorial process works at other companies, and The Bold Type hits the spot. The hour-long show follows three young girls working in the digital media world, trying to navigate that thing we like to call “work/life balance.”
  3. MasterChef. I can’t cook to save my life, but this show is my guilty pleasure. I love to watch it while I eat (takeout), because I like to think that I’m eating what the contestants are making. Did I just say that out loud?

  1. Billions. I recently started binging Billions and can. not. stop. Even for those who don’t know much about the hedge-fund world, this story of wealth, corruption, and influence is accessible through these characters. The acting is so impressive, that I can’t decide whose side I’m on, Bobby Axelrod or Chuck Rhoades.
  2. The Royals. If you’re obsessed with the real Royal fam, and still can’t get enough of the Meghan Markle coverage, this guilty pleasure show is for you. Talk about drama, romance, and laughs, this show’s got it all, with lots of eye candy too (and here at Newsette HQ we’re dying to know are Jasper and Princess Eleanor dating IRL or not?!).
  3. Unreal. Confession, I actually do not watch The Bachelor/Bachelorette. But this show fascinates me because it’s a drama about the behind-the-scenes making of a reality tv show. These tough ladies are master manipulators using crazy tactics to create a story, and boost ratings each season. Is this what it’s really like?! Totally ‘unreal.’

  1. Good Girls. This series just premiered a few months ago, and I’m hooked. It’s about how three moms rob a grocery store to help their children–and the chaos that ensues. The characterization and friendship between these moms is inspiring, and I zoomed through the whole season in a couple of days (sorry not sorry).
  2. Riverdale. Even though I’m a wee bit older than the target demographic, I love this show. It’s a great mix of drama, mystery, and this whimsical 50s vibe, based on the Archie comics. I loved those characters as a kid, and happen to think they did a great job casting them.
  3. The Kitchen. This is a show on Food Network, similar to The Chew (but twelve million times better). This is my favorite thing to watch with a coffee in my hand, because it’s relaxing, and I get great food/entertaining tips. It’s my favorite show on TV, and a highlight of my Saturday/Monday mornings.

  1. Game of Thrones – Need I say more? It has been such a struggle not having new episodes to look forward to after last year’s season finale. I recently started re-watching one episode a week so by the time the last season airs next year (why so far away, HBO?!), I’ll have all ten billion plot lines fresh in my head!
  2. 3%. This is a Brazilian dystopian thriller series that I found on Netflix and became obsessed with. With Hunger Games-esque undertones and mind-blowing twists and turns every episode, I binged the first season within a weekend. The second season was recently released this spring and is currently on Netflix. Not a lot of people know about this show, but I highly recommend – especially if you’re fans of The Hunger Games or Divergent series. You’re welcome in advance.
  3. Parks and Rec. There are two types of people: The Office people and Parks and Rec people. I’ve seen both but ultimately prefer Parks and Rec. Leave it to this show to make me bust out laughing over Leslie Knope’s antics or a single eye-roll from April Ludgate. The cast is amazing (can we just ‘aw’ for a second over baby Chris Pratt?) and I can’t say that I didn’t cry at the finale. Still, this is the show I throw on for the sake of having something playing in the background or when I don’t know what else to watch. It’s literally never a bad choice!

  1. Westworld. This is a trippy thriller that forces you to think hard. It’s a super innovative show set in the future where “every human appetite can be indulged.” I catch myself questioning everything that happens and trying to put together how it connects to a previous episode.
  2. Stranger Things. Not only do I love the entire cast of this show, but it is unlike any other shows out there. It’s a sci-fi horror show (it’s not actually scary) that will have you on the edge of your seat. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) will be your new spirit animal!
  3. Reign. Ok I know what you’re thinking- it is a little corny. This show chronicles Mary, Queen of Scots and her relationship with King Francis II of France. The outfits and castles are dreamy and you’ll start to feel like you’re a part of Mary and Fracis’ relationship by the end of the show.

  1. The Crown. While it may not be a unique answer, this show is extremely popular for a reason. Their big budget sets are the ultimate eye candy, from the opulent rooms of Buckingham Palace to the Royal Wedding at Westminster Abbey. The multi-faceted characters will captivate you immediately- I am personally a huge fan of the Princess Margaret storyline. If you are in need of more content post-royal wedding, I highly recommend this series.
  2. Peaky Blinders. This show follows the Shelby brother’s gang through their triumphs and pitfalls in Birmingham, England in the 1920s (can you tell I’m a sucker for a period piece?). The family drifts between high and low society as they battle with other gangs for the top spot. However, the roughness of the story is set against the subtle glamor of the era. This is a show that requires your complete attention due to the complex storylines…and the thick British accents.
  3. Sex and the City. Another slightly basic choice, but I think I’ve watched this series from start to finish at least five times. The six seasons effortlessly toe the line between comedy, romance, and drama. Each of the four main characters has elements that every girl can relate to and, after a few seasons, I guarantee you will feel like one of the gang. Despite the sometimes dated content, this shows teaches the importance of good girlfriends and great shoes.

  1. Gossip Girl. Call me old fashioned but who doesn’t have a weakness for keeping up with the fabulous lives of Serena and Blair? Their uniquely curated outfits that match their equally extravagant, yet complicated lifestyles kept me on the edge of my chair until the finale, xoxo.
  2. Mad Men. I fell in love with this show due to my admiration of the talented main character Don Draper, a creative director. My mom and I both share a common appreciation for this show and binge watch together, even though we are hundreds of miles apart—adding another reason to the lengthy list of why I love it so much.
  3. Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown. This show allows me to get in touch with two of my passions: food and traveling. The late talented chef had a magical ability to connect with anyone, regardless of the language barrier, as they bonded over their love for food. Be careful though—it comes with a warning: you may develop a severe case of the travel bug.
