Well, to start, Heidi has managed to garner almost half a million followers of her own. And, before gaining hundreds of thousands of fans and launching her own company, Heidi worked as a successful investment banker and later as the CEO of a Nasdaq-listed company in Tokyo. Impressed yet? Below, this seasoned CEO shares how she balances relaxation and work after a busy day.
6:30 P.M. This is around the time my sweetie comes home from work and my cue to take a break from my own work. His business is far more mature than my 18-month-old startup, so he can do things like work only 8 hours a day. 😉
6:45 P.M. I am very lucky to live by the beach in Santa Monica, and because my cooking skills are limited to making restaurant reservations, we eat out 6 times a week. We live within walking distance of amazing restaurants and cafes – and I love the process of just downloading our days while we walk. On Sundays, we just Postmate sushi from Sugarfish.
7:30 P.M. We come back from dinner and I go back to my laptop. Half of my team is in Manila, and we also have clients in Europe and Dubai, so it’s still morning/afternoon there. I usually have non-stop conference calls with various people until about 10:30 P.M.
10:30 P.M. I make my way to the living room and catch up on emails while we watch tv. I love Bill Maher and John Oliver, and we just recently finished The Good Fight.
11:30 P.M. I finally get ready for bed. My sweetie and I are supposed to be watching shows together but I “cheat” by watching bits of upcoming episodes while I brush my teeth and apply my skincare. I am currently obsessed with the Sunday Riley Good Genes serum, Obagi Advanced Radical Night Repair treatment and Neostrata Oily Skin Control gel.
11:50 P.M. Skincare is now on and teeth are brushed, so I jump into bed. I also gleefully tell my better half that I know what’s going to happen in future episodes of our shows. He is often not amused.
12:00 A.M. I sneak a peek at my phone under the covers. I catch up on news (and often Instagram posts), telling myself that I will only do this for 10 minutes.
2:00 A.M. Suddenly it’s 2 A.M. – so I shut off my phone and go to sleep. Repeat and rinse.
