Digital Editor

If you’re a talented writer with a passion for storytelling and coming up with new editorial segments, then this is the perfect position for you. This person will be in charge of our entire editorial process, from curating inspiring women we will feature from numerous PR pitches, to planning out our editorial calendar and making sure our website looks beautiful and delightful every single day.

You will:

  1. Brainstorm new segment ideas and plan out our editorial calendar.
  2. Attend press events and PR meetings to learn about inspiring women we could potentially feature.
  3. Help curate the “mood board” and “wish list” items on the site daily.
  4. Sort through PR pitches to see if there are viable stories that we should be telling.
  5. Research women who we should be featuring and assign our editorial assistant to coordinate.
  6. Source photos that help bring our daily stories to life.
  7. Help ideate and execute story ideas for sponsored partners.
  8. Manage our network of contributing writers, pulling the best stories from each.
  9. Come up with content programming ideas for our social platforms.

Requirements:

  1. 3-5 Years of editorial experience.
  2. Creative eye and ability to color coordinate photos to products.
  3. Exceptional writing and storytelling skills.

Director of Growth and Marketing

We’re looking for someone who is excited about attracting readers to our delightful, motivating, and informative content. This person will lead of our audience development efforts, and be responsible for coming up with ideas and initiatives to grow traffic, expand our subscriber audience, and drive engagement.

The most important requirement of this role is to be ambitious and scrappy. We want someone on our team who will create innovative plans for growth, by leveraging our existing audience and creating new media partnerships.

You will:

  1. Develop, research, and implement strategies to drive traffic to our site, obtain new subscribers, and obtain followers across all social channels.
  2. Identify growth opportunities through new programming, publishing techniques, collaborations, and cross-promotion.
  3. Leverage internal and 3rd party data to develop, execute, and oversee innovative, creative, efficient, and effective marketing strategies that raise awareness, grow traffic and increase usage and consumption of The Newsette’s digital’s content.
  4. Come up with original, high-impact concepts for strategic marketing partnerships—establishing those relationships, and executing the campaigns.
  5. Analyze data from a wide variety of sources (Google Analytics, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) to inform audience development strategies and any sponsored campaign ROIs.
  6. Nurture excellent relationships with partners and manage media partnerships on a daily basis by pitching stories, tracking clicks, and leveraging traffic.
  7. Alongside editorial team, conceive of and test strategies for The Newsette’s email lists and social handles.

Requirements:

  1. 3-5 years of experience in media, digital, or online marketing and a proven track record in audience development/growth for quality media brands.
  2. Confidence in setting and delivering upon ambitious KPIs.
  3. Passion for The Newsette and its delightful, motivating, and informative content.
  4. Deep understanding of analytics in online traffic and paid media.
  5. Impeccable organizational skills and ability to multi-task across projects under tight deadlines.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Director of Brand Partnerships 

We’re searching for a highly-motivated individual with brand and agency relationships to source marketing deals and help us expand our paid partnerships. This Director will be responsible for crafting strategies to retain clients, lock in long-term partnerships, and create and sell digital ad solutions to clients. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong network and experience in digital media sales, and is eager to show advertisers how The Newsette can help execute their marketing goals.

You will:

  1. Establish and grow client partnerships using content, native and video solutions, across all industry verticals.
  2. Grow sales strategy, suggest customized content, create proposals, set up meetings, and craft pitches.
  3. Help cultivate excellent client relationships and deliver an exceptional customer service during the entire process of the campaign.
  4. Achieve revenue goals as defined by goals created by you and the CEO.
  5. Represent The Newsette at marketing and advertising events.
  6. Work with creative to brainstorm and execute highly effective campaigns for partners.
  7. Use your network and create new connections to drum up new business and opportunities.

Requirements:

  1. 3-5 Years of digital media sales experience, including mobile, digital video, and social.
  2. Deep network of advertiser and agency relationships with B2B and B2C clients.
  3. Passion for The Newsette and its delightful, motivating, and informative content.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to present and communicate ideas and thoughts to all levels of the organization.

Ad Operations Manager 

We’re looking for someone who is highly-motivated and detail-oriented to be responsible for the execution of brand partnership deals. This includes working with our editorial team to coordinate content deliverables, managing traffic and engagement goals, having copy and visuals approved by the client, and more.

You will:

  1. Work with the editorial team to execute copy and visuals for the campaign
  2. Schedule and source and 3rd parties taking part in the campaign including photographers, models, illustrators, etc.
  3. Report and track traffic and engagement results
  4. Create a wrap up deck highlighting all milestones and assets created

Requirements:

  1. Four year degree (B.A., B.S.)
  2. 2-4 Years of account management or editorial experience.
  3. Proven ability to work successfully both within a team and independently.
  4. Passion for The Newsette and its delightful, motivating, and informative content.
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills – ability to present and communicate ideas and thoughts to all levels of the organization.
  6. A passion for online media including blogs, video, podcasts, and social media.
  7. Ability to produce high-quality work within a fast-paced environment.
