Morning Routine
Like Britney and the moon, Kristin Cavallari has many phases. There’s the Laguna Beach era of bootcut jeans and boy drama, the Oscar couture moments for E! Style, the organic mom phase that came with two best-selling cookbooks, and the Very Cavallari years, which followed the 33-year-old as she became a lifestyle entrepreneur—and pretty rational adult, TBH–while raising three kids in Nashville. Now, Kristin’s running her always-sold-out brand, Uncommon James, while adjusting to working mom life during a pandemic. How? Coffee. (Obviously.)
5 A.M. I wake up between 5 and 5:30 to work out before my kids wake up. That 30-minute split all depends on whether or not I have to wash my hair!
5:30 A.M. You can usually find me on email during my morning workout [but] I don’t expect anyone to respond! I just like knocking out emails that I didn’t get to the night before.
6:30 A.M. After I work out, I take a shower, then start my skincare routine: I rinse with water, followed by a koji pad from my facialist Karee Hays (they are custom-made for my skin),

7:30 A.M. At the moment, no matter what I’m wearing, I have a few pieces of jewelry I never take off. I’ve been obsessed with an ear trio: Cortez Earrings, Safety Pin Earrings, and Ryman earrings. (I only wear one Ryman, as I only have a third hole in my left ear.)
8 A.M. My dream breakfast is a dutch baby covered in maple syrup or good ol’ fashioned pancakes (I’m a carb girl). But I typically do a smoothie, eggs with sauteed spinach, avocado, and goat cheese, or oatmeal. And coffee is an almond milk or coconut milk latte.
9 A.M. This is when I would leave for the office, because it’s when the sitter gets [to my house]. Obviously working from home [at Uncommon James] has been the new normal, and we’re in the process of putting together a “work from home” company policy moving forward… I’ve learned from the past few months that it’s ok to let go a little and not have to control every situation. To relax more. And to slow down and appreciate everything I have!
