Saie Beauty

Hey, it’s Faran. I’m the Newsette’s editorial director, which means I’m responsible for the Morning Routines you see in our issues. I love hearing from celebs and CEOs about their daily jumpstarts, but they couldn’t be further from my life. In fact, my daily AM is like, “Wake up from a weird vivid dream an hour after I want to → brush teeth while taking a shower → twist curly hair into messy bun → grab statement dress that takes 5 seconds to throw on (thank you, Staud, for your service) → sandals → headphones → byeeee!”

But while it’s easy to slip on a giant t-shirt or slip on a pair of Vans, slipping on makeup? Not so easy… until it is.

That’s what I learned when a box of Saie arrived at my doorstep last week. I did not pay for it, but when I run out, I will absolutely buy it for myself. (Seriously, DM me in 2 months and I will show you the literal Sephora receipts.) That’s because Saie beauty makes this thing named Slip Tint, which they call a “Broad Spectrum SPF 35 Tinted Moisturizer” and I call witchcraft. Slip Tint basically dissolved into my existing skin tone, and the color coverage was so seamless, it was impossible to tell if I’d missed a spot. And let’s be real, I always miss a spot.

Slip Tint is so legit that I don’t even mind talking about it as if I’m a (much cooler… right?) woman on an infomercial. And yeah, you’ve definitely seen this stuff on TV, because Saie’s celebrity following is quite substantial, with Gwyneth Paltrow as an early investor and Salem Mitchell starring in their ad campaign. They know this tube is packed with “skincare superhero ingredients” like licorice for brightening and hyaluronic acid for moisturizing. I care that my makeup uses thoughtful, plant-based ingredients… but I care that I look good more. This does both.

My morning routine now also includes a quick swipe of Saie’s Dew Balm, a creme highlighter I like to dab on my cheekbones and the inner corner of my eyes. It comes in a tiny tube because you only need a tiny bit, and though the formula is shimmery, it’s made with mica and iron oxide powders instead of microplastics, which is a big deal for ocean health. Saie also makes this thing called a Glowy Super Gel, which you definitely want to mix into your foundation for serious luminescence or sexy “soft glam” looks. And speaking of sex—which you know we love to discuss at The Newsette—this mascara is very long-lasting, but won’t flake or smudge off your pillows. (Or your partner. Important.)

Now is the part where I’m gonna be so honest, Daniella will probably delete this section of the story. I really enjoyed using all of Saie’s products. (When does that ever happen?) But I also know buying nice things is a commitment, because quality beauty products cost more than a vodka soda, and sometimes you have to choose. I asked Saie to give everyone a discount, and they were like, “Yeah, cool,” so if you use the code NEWSETTE, you’ll get 10% off.

What should you get? Personally, if I have the cash for just one nice beauty product, then this is it. It’s the easiest complexion coverage I’ve ever used, hands-down. And if you can buy two nice beauty products? 1) Congratulations! 2) Have you tried this lip gloss? It’s got that same melty quality as Slip Tint, so even though it’s shiny, your lips won’t feel sticky or slippery. It’s made with coconut oil and apple extract if you care about that stuff… and if you just care about being hot, yes, great, love that for you.

TLDR: Slip Tint → sandals → headphones → looks great, byeeee! ❤️

I know I love you,

xoxo F
