She’s a shopaholic. Here are her confessions. SuChin Pak is one-half of the comedic duo behind Add to Cart, a Lemonada Media podcast where she and co-host Kulap Vilaysack talk about what products (and beliefs) they’re buying into.

Here, SuChin breaks down the weird ticks behind her shopping habits, her worst purchase ever, and her best browsing practices.

How does your mood affect what you buy?
There is no mood that shopping isn’t appropriate for. I generally tend to shop when I’ve been deprived of something because it makes me feel better.

What shopping habit did you not know you had until starting this podcast?
I had no idea I cared so much about my teeth. All that time at home, I suddenly became very interested in dental hygiene in a way that’s baffling to me. Toothbrushes, mouthwashes, floss—all of it. I am currently rotating between 3 different types of toothbrushes and 4 different types of flosses…. That doesn’t feel healthy.

What’s been your most regrettable purchase?
At the beginning of the pandemic, I knew I was going to be in sweats a lot… so I thought I had this great insight to order junior-sized sweats from Amazon in bulk. They seemed to fit great, they were comfy, and I had a uniform. But they got major shrinkage after one wash, so now I’ve been hiking up my socks to meet the bottom of my pants because I refuse to admit that I was too cheap to buy adult-size sweats.

Are you a supporter of the “shop your values” philosophy?
I try for a C-life, meaning I’ll try my best, but sometimes I give in to the darker forces. Whenever I can, I buy in local physical stores, not only because it keeps our community healthier, but because the cost of shipping on the environment is a lot. I also strive to support businesses owned by women of color. As consumers, we have power in the ways huge corporations run their businesses—from less packaging to donating parts of your purchase to really good causes—all of that is a growing “trend” because consumers demanded it.

Do you have a system for deciding when a purchase is worth it?
I think something is worth it if you know you’re going to actually use it. This is why things sit in my cart for months sometimes because I’m contemplating. My rule is, if you’re still coming back to it a month later, get it.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever bought?
I bought a toilet brush cleaner that sits in a UV sanitized base, so I start with a clean brush every time.
