After we hop off a 6-hour flight, refresh is the only word on our minds. But thanks to TSA regulations, we can’t bring our usual 7-step skincare routine. Marianna Hewitt (she/her), co-founder of the buzzy skincare line Summer Fridays, knows this struggle all too well.
And since years of being a beauty content creator have made her an expert on the topic, here’s Marianna’s 5-minute routine for getting your look back on track while on the go.
Step 1. When I’m traveling in very hot or very cold climates, my skin tends to get dehydrated. To help, I’ll apply Summer Fridays Dream Oasis Serum. This is a deeply hydrating serum that is gentle enough for sensitive skin. It’s so calming and really quenches my skin.
Step 2. I apply Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask as a moisturizer. It makes for the perfect moisturizing primer before applying makeup. It also comes in a mini size which I always keep in my travel bag for the plane.
Step 3. All year long, but especially when I’m sightseeing outdoors, I need SPF. I like any spray sunscreens like Neutrogena’s Body Sunscreen Mist because they’re really easy to apply, especially for hard-to-reach areas.
Step 4. To refresh my makeup throughout the day, I carry a Beautyblender with me and dab it all over just to blend out anything, especially where my sunglasses hit my nose and leave marks. I’ll also add a mist of Tower28 SOS spray, which comes in a mini size, too.
