Do Revenge is a dish best served on Netflix. Ava Capri (she/they) stars alongside a stellar cast of Gen Zers in their generation’s version of Hitchcock’s Strangers on a Train. It’s out this Friday, so text your group chat ASAP to see who’s bringing the snacks.

Here, the LA local talks about their style on set vs. IRL, their fav ‘80s film, and what Taylor Swift song best describes the movie.

Do Revenge has amazing fashion (even the private school uniforms are chic). What’s your style like IRL?
I wear a lot of vintage or thrifted clothes. Usually, you can find me wearing a trucker hat, t-shirt, jeans, and white reeboks. I also love going to different flea markets in LA. The Los Feliz Flea is my favorite one.

The movie definitely gives off Heathers x Clueless x Cruel Intentions vibes. Do you have a fav flick from that era?
This answer is a completely different vibe from Do Revenge and those other classics, but Dead Poets Society is one of my all-time favorite movies. I had to watch it in high school and I remember it made such an impact on me as a young person. Also, I’m just a massive Robin Williams fan. I’ve watched it a lot now and it still gets me every time.

It also shows the ups and downs of high school. What was high school like for you?
I went to an all-girls Catholic school. I know it sounds like a lot, but I actually had fun there and I am still very close with many of my friends from that time. We wore polo shirts with pleated skirts and blazers on our formal days. We didn’t have the Rosehill Academy lavender/mint color scheme or the French berets, sadly.

What was it like working with Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke?
I love them both so much. They’re both so hot and talented, and they’re 10/10 scene partners and human beings [laughing]. The entire cast was incredible honestly; we all had a blast making this.

Is there a song that perfectly describes the film?
I actually have a great answer for this. It’s the chorus of Renegade by Taylor Swift and Big Red Machine. Speaking of T-Swift, her song Death By A Thousand Cuts was inspired by [the director and writer of Do Revenge] Jenn’s movie Someone Great. The Taylor Swift and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson universes are tightly aligned, and truly, thank God for that.

And finally, would you rather let something go or get revenge?
This is definitely not a fun answer, but I feel like I wouldn’t be good at getting revenge in real life. I’m pretty forgiving in general. Guess that makes me team “let it go.”
