She’s a Kerr-ageous woman.

Miranda Kerr is the model behind our fav VS Fashion Show looks and the founder of KORA Organics, a certified-organic skincare brand that helped pioneer the clean beauty movement.

Below, the Australian icon shares why she went from model to entrepreneur, how she practices self-care on the daily, and deets on her new body care line. (BTW, we tried the lotion and it’s delish.)

How did your passion for skincare begin?
When I was a teenager, my mom was diagnosed with cancerous tumors in her spleen, and after doing research, we discovered that a lot of the everyday products we were using—from cleaning supplies to food to skincare—contained potentially toxic chemicals. So I cleaned up our household items to make sure they were less toxic, but I wasn’t able to find anything that was certified-organic and results-driven in the skincare space. Since our skin is the largest organ in our body, I felt it was important to put the purest ingredients on it, so I sought out a solution.

How’d you make it happen?
My friend introduced me to an aromatherapist who made certified-organic essential oils and she put me in touch with her chemists. They agreed to work with me but also said it’s a big commitment, and a lot of time and money would have to be invested. So I decided to take it upon myself and invest my own money from my modeling career. It was in 2016, when I decided to shift my focus to KORA Organics, that we really started to grow. Now, we’re sold in 30 countries and continue to be the only global certified-organic skincare brand.

And now you’re expanding to body care! What’s your favorite product from the new line?
Definitely the Invigorating Body Scrub. I created it because I think it’s just as important to take care of our bodies as our faces. This scrub exfoliates dead skin cells without disrupting your skin’s natural barrier, and leaves it feeling detoxified, glowing, and tingling all over!

You were one of the first celebrities to launch their own beauty line. Why do you think celebrity-founded brands are becoming so popular?
Because we’ve all had to sit in the makeup chair and get exposed to certain ingredients and products to achieve a certain look. I used so many different products over my 26 years of modeling that I learned what worked and what didn’t. What makes KORA Organics different, though, is that it’s self-funded; I’m the founder and CEO and own 95% of the company. A lot of celebrities have licensing deals or other people funding their businesses, but I wanted to maintain as much control as possible. This is my passion, not just a business opportunity.

Aside from skincare, what are some other ways you practice self-care?
My philosophy on self-care is that you have to nourish your mind, body, and skin, as they’re all connected. Some ways I practice self-care are with my morning and evening skincare routines, meditation, yoga, exercise, affirmations, crystals, aromatherapy, and infrared sauna. If we can take time to give back to ourselves, then we can give so much more to others.

Have you ever felt imposter syndrome as a model? How’d you deal with it?
Of course… I still get nervous! Meditation and prayer have been instrumental for me to recenter, look within, stay grounded, and connect with my spirit.

What are some of the biggest changes you’ve witnessed in the modeling industry over the past 26 years?
The biggest positive change I’ve witnessed is the increase of inclusivity and diversity; seeing people of all shapes, sizes, genders, and ethnicities in campaigns and on the runway. The industry is moving in the right direction, but there is always room for improvement.

What advice would you give young women who want to get into modeling?
It’s important to follow your passion, but it’s just as important to understand that rejection is inevitable in this industry and you shouldn’t take it personally.
