Consider us influenced. 💁‍♀️ Gabi Fresh (she/her), fashion influencer, designer, and creative director, has been at the forefront of social media since its inception. Since starting her blog in 2008, her presence online has been a balm to women seeking fashion role models who aren’t thin. But through the years, she’s gone from just influencing fashion to designing it. (We love to see it!)

So, what’s the multi-hyphenate up to lately? Scroll down and find out.

You’re one of the OG influencers of this era. How has the industry changed?
It’s been amazing to see how far the industry has come and how much the community has grown. The fact that inclusivity and body positivity have become a part of the mainstream conversation is surreal, and it’s been beautiful to witness. It’s been cool to have a bird’s eye view of the evolution and to see all the amazing Gen Z newcomers keep pushing things forward.

You’ve been really influential when it comes to fat fashion. Why is this so important to you?
When I started there were almost no resources for us, and I wanted my blog to help other fat women connect with each other and share tips for where to shop and how to be fashion forward with limited options available. I really wanted to prove that you could be stylish at any size, because back then that was never the messaging we received. It was all about dressing to look smaller or hide your flaws.

What’s some advice you can share for plus size women trying to carve out their personal style?
I think finding influencers or celebrities whose style you admire is a great first step; creating a collage or Pinterest board and then finding common threads between their style helps you identify the types of things you’re drawn towards. Then, it’s just about getting out of your own head and going for it! So much of pulling something off is just about putting it on.

Do you have any fave clothing brands?
Eloquii is definitely a go-to, even outside of my collection, because they’re one of the only brands that really brings statement dressing to plus size customers.

You mentioned your collection with Eloquii. Can you tell us about that?
I designed two swim collections with Eloquii. The first drop was really fun, bright, and inspired by tropical vibes, and the second was more subdued and celebrated neutrals and minimalism but with statement details. My goal is always to bring stylish, high quality, luxe options to plus size swimwear.

Speaking of swimwear, do you have a favorite destination to wear your super cute bikinis?
I love traveling! I’m usually a poolside at the resort girly, but I love the beach, too. My favorite place is Italy, but I also love a good island vacay.
