The Disrupthers
No shame in the sex game. And Alysha Malik (she/her) really wants you to know that. As the founder of Rythm—a company focused on helping humans connect better with their parts and partners through safer intimacy essentials—she’s seen firsthand how some pleasure products don’t create pleasure at all. “I used to work in the sexual wellness industry, leading product innovation and consumer insights just to discover that most pleasure products contain ingredients that make women’s lives feel unpleasurable, especially if you’re a woman of color like myself. So, after testing a dozen products for work and always finding myself in the OB-GYN clinic, the seeds for Rythm got planted. We are a better-for-her CPG marketplace that vets and curates doctor-approved supplements, topicals, and tools to enhance female pleasure.”
Keep reading to see how exactly Alysha found her own Rythm among the sexual wellness space, and how you can, too.
What products and info can we find through your brand? How are these recs and methods authorized and placed into the world?
You can find the entire sex life cycle on our marketplace. We tackle all of the symptoms that get in the way of female pleasure that includes bad communication, stress, anxiety, PMS, bloating, low libido, vaginal dryness, as well as natural solutions for erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation for penis-havers.
We view everything from the lens of the vagina. All of our products have been curated and vetted by our clinical board of advisors that includes a board-certified sexual medicine nurse practitioner, a naturopathic doctor, and a sex therapist. We review the ingredient list so that you don’t have to.
Our hero product is In Tune, a card game for couples by therapists. In Tune was designed to bring back the new relationship energy through three levels that dig deep into your childhood and highlight your shared vision to bridge the emotional and physical connection in the present.
How can nourishing our sexual wellness impact us in and outside the bedroom?
We are currently in a sex recession with each generation having less sex than the previous one. Sexual wellness is one of the core pillars of health. Having sex increases our longevity, makes us look younger, and be more creative. Sex is also proven to delay the onset of menopausal symptoms and maintain vaginal elasticity. When you shop responsibly for intimate and pleasure products, you’re increasing your capacity to be loved and let love in to live a life that feels great both in and out of the bedroom.
What’s something you suggest we try when we’re feeling a bit… dry?
When it comes to intimacy, most people don’t get that for vulva-havers, desire starts in the mind and extends to the body. It’s often sparked through conversations and acts of service in a long-term relationship vs. physical touch. So, the next time you want to get it on, try having an exciting conversation that compliments your partner, adds a layer of mystery, and evokes a sense of safety, or you can just buy In Tune [laughing].
