Need some motivation today? We get it. Thankfully, we have a stellar mentor in Sage Robbins. Today, she’s giving us great advice about stepping into our power and cultivating resilience—plus, we’ve got the 411 on how to attend the She’s Unstoppable Summit for free. 🔑

What is the She’s Unstoppable Summit? What can participants expect?
We created the She’s Unstoppable Summit, a free virtual event experience taking place on August 21st because, as women today, we are juggling more responsibilities than ever before. We feel the pressure of society’s expectations, not to mention the burden of all the ambitions we place on ourselves. With commitments as daughters, sisters, friends, partners, mothers, and more, the demands we make on ourselves can feel overwhelming in moments. We wanted to create a unique place for women to come together from all over the world and learn from each other. So, we built a community where women can share and learn insights, tools, and strategies for creating a life that’s meaningful to them. We have the privilege to host a few of our friends, really extraordinary humans who continue to find a way to create deeply fulfilling lives even with intense demands and pressures. Tyra Banks, Maria Menounos, Serena Williams, and Hayley and Derek Hough will all be joining us. You can pre-register now at no cost.

You’re an expert on leadership. What made you want to be a leader and help women step into leadership roles as well?
My experience is that leaders can lead with the heart first. What I notice is that it has become a lost art. At its core, leadership is simply the desire to serve others. And that’s something each of us is capable of. I’m not someone with higher education degrees; I didn’t go to business school. It’s my experience that leadership is an inside-out job. It starts from within. Being “in charge” really means overseeing ourselves, our mindset, our mood, our reactions, our communications, and our attitude.

To lead, we must be willing to hold ourselves accountable for the energy we bring to any situation. Our true power as women is the power of our heart. Our heart holds the answers— compassion, understanding. The opportunity, as I see it, is that there can be a vacancy in modern society when it comes to human connectedness. When there is an aliveness, playfulness, curiosity, and real interest infused in our work; when we’re really connected to a higher outcome of a project, there’s an aligned vision, a common mission. That’s the power of leadership.

Why is it so important for women to become leaders, especially now?
We’re all ultimately responsible for the world we co-create. There are so many external voices: social media, news, politicians, family, friends… people we don’t even know. But there’s another voice that we can all miss in our busyness and activity. It’s a voice that invites us to quiet down and tune in and notice. Even in the midst of chaos, when we truly still our minds, we can connect to the spirit of our true nature. When we have a willingness to self-reflect and see from a higher perspective, there’s compassion—for ourselves and others. A higher truth is revealed. Leadership is our commitment to that. Each and every one of us is being called. When we change the inner world, we change the outer world.

What’s one thing our readers could do today to cultivate resilience and tap into their confidence?
They can know that life is happening for them. It’s all to grow us and evolve us. There are no mistakes. Through life’s trials and tribulations, we can choose to find flexibility where there was once resistance. That requires surrender. And an acknowledgement that we cannot possibly control every moment of life. As we continue to rise and fall, we can also continue to learn and grow. From there, we get more emotionally nimble—and that’s true resilience.

Is there anything else you’d like to share?
Being a mother of a 3-year-old has caused me to reflect on the world we want to leave her. As we face uncertainty from the media, government, economics, and institutions, we recognize we each must take responsibility for the way we live, relate, connect, communicate, and lead. If you feel spoken to, please join us on August 21st. I look forward to being with you!
