Shani Darden is an L.A.-based esthetician known for being the expert behind some of Hollywoods’ brightest complexions, and founder of her namesake beauty company. Shani’s line is made up of essentials like a serum, essence, and moisturizer, all crafted using her motto that skincare “does not have to be complicated to be effective.” Along with the launching of her popular line, and impressive social presence, this mother-of-two is also opening up a flagship spa this month. Below, this beauty boss tells us about the healthy habits that she’s added to her routine to keep her feeling whole. 
Bad habits you’ve cut from your daily routine?

  1. I cut out caffeine a while back. I realized that it just doesn’t suit me or my lifestyle, so now I start my mornings with hot water and lemon! It’s much more hydrating in the morning than coffee. Lemon is a great source of antioxidants, which is so important for keeping your skin looking youthful.
  2. I TRY to not eat frozen gummy worms that often. They’re my weakness! I’ve been very diligent about keeping healthy snacks on hand all the time. Keeping the fridge stocked at the office helps to keep me from ordering food or turning to sugary snacks.

Good habits you’ve added?

  1. I’ve recently started taking Lumity supplements for a boost to my skincare routine and overall health. How do you take care of yourself throughout the day?
I try to drink tons of water and eat clean. It helps me to stay centered and productive. My schedule is very busy, with back-to-back facials, photoshoots, and product development meetings. I have to make sure I’m taking care of myself throughout the day so that I can focus and be present for my family. 
Are there any activities that help you de-stress and relax?
I start every morning with my Deesse LED mask. It’s the perfect way to help start my day with a glow, while easing into the morning. How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
Unfortunately, not very many! I’ve never been a great sleeper, and now with kids, it’s even harder to sleep through the night! I’m always working on this though and hoping to find a solution so I can sleep better!

What is your favorite healthy food?
