Kendra Oyesanya is a professional dancer and actress living in Los Angeles, CA who has performed with some of the world’s biggest artists, including Beyoncé, Cardi B, and Ciara. On the acting side, she is currently starring in Lionsgate’s scripted series Step Up Highwater on YouTube Premium. She also has an impressive social media presence. Having moved to LA a little later in life, Kendra is living proof that it’s never too late to follow your dreams. We asked this talented powerhouse to take us through the habits she follows to feel her best while living out her passions. She shares her daily rituals below.

How do you take care of yourself throughout the day?
Before I pick up my phone or do anything, when I wake up I pray and express my gratitude. Doing this really keeps me balanced and grateful throughout the day, which I think is key to receiving success and many blessings. Staying positive no matter what also helps. Life always comes with unexpected situations and maintaining a positive attitude always keeps me going. Making sure I stay active daily helps me to take care of myself and gives me a boost of energy. Whether it’s dancing, yoga, or working out, being active always makes me feel good and keeps me centered throughout the day. 




Are there any activities or hobbies you do to help you de-stress?
Yoga is definitely a new hobby/activity I picked up that helps me to de-stress while also getting a good workout in. Meditation as little as 5-10 mins a day helps me relax and have peace of mind before I start my day.




How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
Lately my sleep pattern has been a little off due to a lot of traveling across different timezones but typically I get 6-7 hours of sleep. Forcing myself to go to bed early would be an improvement. I like to get my errands and daily task done early in the morning so going to sleep earlier so I can wake up earlier and be energized would be a big help.

Do you have a favorite wellness trend?
I bought my first juicer this year and I love it! I was hearing a lot about drinking celery juice and the benefits of juicing in general and decided to add it to my routine. I like that juicing has so many benefits like clearer skin, improved digestive system, and weight loss.


What is your favorite healthy food?
My favorite healthy food is avocados. It’s a healthy fat and my favorite tasty superfood. I like to eat avocados as a snack or with my salads.
