Got a secret, can you keep it? We’re not taking our love of Malia Pyles (she/her), who plays Minnie Honrada in PLL: Original Sin, to the grave.

Here, we hear about her love for the horror genre, the most fun parts of being on set, and get a spoiler-free hint at the finale.

PLL: Original Sin is a lot darker than the OG. Are you a fan of scary stuff yourself?
I’ve always had a fascination for darker things. One of my favorite shows growing up was Criminal Minds. When I was 10, I structured my afternoons on how to sneak as many episodes of that show in before my parents found out I wasn’t doing my homework. I was also a huge fan of Hannibal and American Horror Story.

What has been the most fun scene to shoot so far?
It’s hard to choose. The spirit week dance scenes definitely stick out. We filmed them in the first week of shooting and we were all just getting to know each other, so it was really just a big party.

Out of the cast, who do you think could survive (and maybe uncover) A in real life?
Our cast is so smart. Honestly, we’re all little investigators and survivors in our own right. But… Chandler Kinney does have a black belt, so I know she’s got some fight in her. Maia Reficconame?) is also quite the athlete in real life. She’d definitely kick some A a*s. Jordan Gonzalez is one of the most curious people I know, so he’s definitely a contender for finding out who A is. However, I think our A is so frightening that we truly couldn’t bench any players. I’d put my money on everyone needing to work together.

So the show takes place in Millwood, a fictional town not far off from Rosewood. Does that mean we’re going to be seeing some familiar faces?
Our show is already riddled with easter eggs referencing the original. If you look closely, the pill bottle that Noa’s Mom, Marjorie, stole is labeled Rivers, Caleb. Why is he checked into a hospital in Millwood? I don’t know. While I can’t see the future, I can confirm there will be more mentions of Rosewood and the original characters. And you’ll definitely see a familiar face. As a fan of Pretty Little Liars, I definitely let out some squeals as I read the scripts. The rest is a secret. So, you’ll just have to watch to find out.

We have our own theories on who A could be, but did you and the cast theorize who it was during filming?
One of the most fun and frustrating parts of our production was that the creators, producers, and writers, had a strict embargo on any scripts that had yet to be filmed. So there were a lot of theories the cast would trade. It got to a point where we would corner writers, trying to get them to spill any clues… with no luck. We’d try to find discarded drafts, and blueprints of future sets. The puzzle pieces were scattered around our production, we just had to look to find them. I can’t share any of my personal theories without giving too much away, but I’m seeing a lot of the same ones on Twitter. I even thought I was A at one point, and it seems like quite a few fans do as well.

The last few episodes drop August 18th. What 3 emojis would you use to describe the season finale?
The trap, the blood drop, and the candle.
