Lily Kunin is the co-founder of Clean Market, a wellness center that is a self-care oasis, offering healthy food, an IV drip lounge, cryotherapy, and infrared saunas. She’s also the author of Good Clean Food and the creator of the blog Clean Food Dirty City. If that wasn’t enough, Lily is also a certified holistic health coach in NYC. Below, this wellness guru shares the routines she follows to feel her best, from matcha lattes in the morning to mustard baths at night.
Bad habits you’ve cut from your routine?

  1. Taking Lyfts.
  2. Checking my phone right when I wake up (trying to at least).
  3. Picking at my skin.

Good habits you’ve added?

  1. Meditation.
  2. Drinking lots of water.
  3. Walking my dog. 🙂

How do you keep yourself balanced or take care of yourself throughout the day?
This is so important for me. I literally cannot get work done or show up for my team if I am not taking care of myself. I’m trained in Vedic meditation so I try to meditate for 20 mins a day (ideally 20 mins two times a day). When I am not taking care of myself, it’s all about getting back to the basics – eating well, staying hydrated, moving my body, sweating it out in the sauna, and bringing my puppy to the office, etc.
Are there any activities you do to de-stress?
Yes, so many! This is so important and I aim for at least an hour a day of a “relaxing” activity. For example, I love reading a book in the infrared sauna, walking my dog in the park, cooking a leisurely dinner, catching up with a friend, taking a mustard bath (with a face mask on), or watching my favorite show in bed.
How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
I typically get at least 8 hours of sleep – sleep is so crucial to me and I see a huge difference if I’m running even on 7 hours of sleep or less after a couple of days in a row. Sticking to a routine before bed really helps me achieve a deeper, longer sleep but I have been so exhausted at the end of the day that falling asleep is never really an issue. If I had to change one thing, I would get an alarm clock and have my phone charge in the kitchen so I cannot look at it before bed or right when I wake up!
Do you have a favorite wellness trend?
I love collagen and have incorporated it into my daily routine – I add it to my matcha lattes and smoothies as a nice source of protein. As an added bonus I have noticed stronger nails and hair.
What is your favorite healthy food?
I love matcha and drink it every day, it helps me with a cool, calm, and collected energy. I put my “Glow Matcha” on the menu at Clean Market, which has matcha, collagen, coconut butter, and raw honey. It’s a great source of energy, protein, and healthy fats to start your day.
