My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: It’s commonly said but still underappreciated: hydration is key. Too many times we think we’ve drunk enough water for the day, but I doubt we ever come close to the 2.7 liters or so of water that our bodies need. I always stay away from salty or sugary foods as much as I can, try to hydrate frequently, and eat meals with a fruit included. A banana always gives me a wonderful potassium pick-me-up to fuel my day!

My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: This tip is ubiquitously quoted, but it works well: Avoid any caffeine for at least 3 hours before bedtime. If you must fulfill your hot-drink itch, then opt for chamomile tea or plain milk (perhaps ginger or turmeric infused). This soothes your nerves and maximizes melatonin production. Also, filter out all worries from your mind; sort out any conflicts/negative thoughts beforehand (I recommend bullet-journaling or meditation) and make sure that your bed partner is someone you’re on good terms with. Unexpectedly, this last one helps in calming the mind and inducing sleep!

My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: An espresso smoothie in the morning (peanut butter, banana, cacao powder, almond milk, honey, Nespresso shot, ice and the special ingredient, Brain Dust!) and drinking lots of water throughout the day.
My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: Olly sleep gummies, a humidifier with lavender essential oils and my Slip silk eye mask. Also, if you wake up early and get that workout in, you’ll be more tired at night and fall asleep quicker!

My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: It sounds dumb, but just getting up from my desk every now and then and taking a quick stroll through my office helps me stay energized. Staying in the same spot and position for hours on end makes me feel lethargic, so I’ve been making an effort to get up throughout my day!

My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: Putting my phone on Do Not Disturb Mode early on in the evening (around 8-9) and leaving it face down quiets my brain a little bit and helps me get ready for bed. I’ve also gotten into the habit of not bringing my computer into bed with me (sorry Netflix). Having a screen in my face made it a lot easier for me to stay up late, so now I just turn off the lights and let my body unwind.

My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: I always have healthy, energy-boosting snacks in my purse. Nuts, trail mix, and sliced fruit are my go-to; they’re delicious, easy to eat, and don’t need to stay cold!
My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: I always do a brain-game before bed— and not on my phone!!! Sudoku, crosswords, and word searches (on paper!!) tire out your brain and, unlike a book, have a time limit so you don’t end up awake until 3am because you couldn’t put your book down.

My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: It’s all about slowing down your morning to meet your own readiness for the day. For instance, by getting to work just a bit earlier (even 15 minutes), you can use that time to get your own mind ready for the busy day to come. I settle in, get a cup of coffee, start to eat my breakfast, and organize my written planner (both work and personal.) Then, I look at my daily to-do list and catch up with emails without getting into the nitty-gritty. The moment the work day really comes to a start – then I’m ready!
My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: I love my humidifier! The constant hum is soothing and I swear it’s helping reduce the chance of getting colds throughout the season.

Zzz’s: Calm Tea, available here on Amazon, is a game-changer. You mix it with hot or cold water (I like it hot before bedtime!) and it gives you a nice does of Magnesium which is an awesome sleep-aid.
Energy: I take a 5 minute break every hour to drink water + take a lap around the office, it keeps my blood flowing and my body and brain from falling asleep!

My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: (1) Only consume liquids before noon so your body doesn’t use as much energy digesting. Before leaving the house, I take a shot of apple cider vinegar mixed with ginger, lemon, cayenne, and pineapple juice – GOOD MORNING TASTE BUDS! This shot has a really strong kick that’s sure to wake you up. At the office, I drink an americano or kombucha, and a cold pressed- juice. (2) Give compliments to your co-workers to lift their mood and yours.
My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: (1) I have a Pink Himalayan Salt lamp next to my bed that I turn on an hour before falling asleep. People claim it helps regulating sleep cycles- I agree. (2) I recently got new pillows from 2920 and they are absolutely magical. My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: Cracking a few jokes with my team: usually some point in the afternoon when I’m starting to feel the afternoon haziness I break away from my desk and chit chat with my team (an easy meal they need to try out, a subway – or in Denver, a lightrail – story, how I’ve started putting collagen creamer in my coffee). I find many of my colleagues want to do this in the morning when they arrive to the office, but I’m ready to hit the ground running when I walk in, and appreciate this mental break in the afternoon when I need a friendly pick me up

My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: My evening skincare regime: It’s a time dedicated to not doing anything else but my evening skincare routine; I’m not on my phone or listening to music or podcasts. It’s quiet. It’s a time to wind down and care for myself. Since this is time to myself, I allow myself to think of some things I want to do the next day (pick up more eye make up remover, go buy veggies at the store, email back so-and-so) so then I’m not laying in bed with a racing mind creating a to-do list.

My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: Drinking lots of water, eating healthy snacks, and constantly walking and moving! Coffee is great too but not too much or you’ll crash.
My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: Turning off all electronics before bed, lighting candles, meditating, and making the room extremely dark.

Carms M. of Nashville, TN

My tip on getting energy throughout the work day: Citrus (lemon or orange) essential oils!

My tip on how to get the best zzz’s of your life: No lights, unplug, and use lavender essential oil.
