Ever wonder what we’re up to over here at Newsette HQ? We’re always busy planning cool, unique experiences for our Newsette Network members, and we want to let you in on all the fun things we do every week! September has been a jam-packed month for us, from learning how to create the perfect flower arrangement to becoming experts at wedding invites. Need some convincing to join the Network? Check out our new monthly roundup of all the happenings to get an inside look – and some inspiration to sign up!
FlowerSchool: Flower Arranging Workshop
There’s so much more to flower arranging than just cutting the stems and placing the flowers in a pretty vase. The FlowerSchool NY introduced our members to the world of contemporary flower arranging with a fall-inspired bouquet!  A professional florist taught us how to perfectly arrange, cut, size and place different types of flowers to create an insta-worthy arrangement. Our members sipped on wine, networked with other members and got to take home their creations!

Calligraphy Class:
This month, expert Nancy Moy taught us how to perfect the art of calligraphy. Thanks to her special brush pens and workbook (which she created herself) we went through a step-by-step tutorial on each of the different strokes that make up each letter. Through shaky hands and laser focus, we managed to master the strokes, and crafted beautiful creations. We may need some more practice (having a glass of wine in one hand did not help) but now we can write our own thank-you notes! Anyone trust us to write their wedding invites?

Canal Street Market:
Have you ever been to this cool artisan market in SoHo? If you haven’t, head down to Canal Street Market (which is basically Etsy, IRL) to shop the amazing vendor booths, from Maria Castelli’s handmade high-end leather bags to The Green Witch’s CBD-infused honey and elixirs. Not only do they feature cool, local artists in each of their booths, they also have a food hall next door where you can indulge in a lobster roll, Japanese shaved ice or ramen noodles. Our Network members got a firsthand look at all the market has to offer, with live demonstrations, discounts, and exclusive freebies, while walking around the market with a glass of wine in hand!

Mood U:
Sewing seams easy, right? See what I did there? Our Network members learned firsthand how much skill and focus goes into precise clothes-making! They tapped into their inner fashion designers at Mood U, the sewing school extension of Mood Fabrics, which is famous for its affiliation with Project Runway! They got hands-on experience in numerous workshops, learning how to create jewelry bowls, tassel earrings, pouches and more! Wine, courtesy of Le Grand Courtâge and Tres Chic Rosé was included, Heidi Klum was not.
