Claire Vero is the founder of Aurelia, the groundbreaking skincare brand that uses a range of natural and bio-organic ingredients. Before starting her company, Claire had a career in pharmaceuticals, during which she studied probiotics and their remarkable abilities to reduce inflammation. She decided to try to infuse skincare products with these probiotic technologies—and the rest is history. Since Aurelia’s launch six years ago, it has won over 145 awards, become a major success in Scandinavia, and been featured in top publications like Vogue, Women’s Health, and Elle. Below, this mother-of-two and successful entrepreneur tells us about the routines that fuel her to be her best self.

What are some bad habits you’ve cut from your routine?
1. I’ve cut down on my screen time. Instead, I opt for a good book and a relaxing bath before bed.
2. I’m conscious not to check my phone as soon as I wake up as I think it sets the tone for my whole day.
3. It’s very important for me not to drink too much caffeine – I now enjoy herbal teas with natural ingredients from the garden.

Good habits you’ve added?
1. Wednesdays are detox days away from my phone.
2. I’m sure to get 8 hours of sleep every night.
3. I walk around the garden each day to clear my head.
4. I start my day by taking some probiotics orally.
5. I am conscious of my water intake and try to drink the recommended amount.

How do you take care of yourself throughout the day?
I take regular breaks and limit my screen-time. Recently I started working with a Personal Trainer who helps me take care of myself. I also love to use essential oils in the office by spraying my desk and myself with the Rose Quartz Pillow Mist spray. To keep a nice balance, I try to split up my time so that I spend two days in London, and two at home, which I now have the luxury of doing since the business has grown. As far as my home goes, variation is key. I have recently been looking for fabrics for my home renovation, you know, not always doing the same thing at the computer.

Are there any activities or hobbies you do to de-stress?
I used to love Pilates when I lived in the city, but now that I’ve moved to the country, I am thinking about getting the Peloton bike. I also frequently take Epsom Salt Baths to help my body calm and relax. When time allows, my family often takes holidays out to the coast since we love swimming in the ocean. I find swimming a chance to clear my head and try to make it a part of my daily ritual.

How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
I get about 8 hours of sleep per night. I’ve cut out all the technology in the bedroom. No phones, no TV, which I think has really helped improve my sleeping schedule.

Do you have a favorite wellness trend?
I love ginger shots because they help me to feel energized and cleansed for the day. I also love the Aurelia Rose Quartz Botanical Facial Mist, which includes volcanic minerals that hydrate the skin and promote energy.

What is your favorite healthy food?
Kale! I love putting it in my salads as well as roasting it. One of my favorite meals would be some kale alongside salmon with fennel seeds pressed in. I also enjoy Quinoa bowls, which aren’t as popular in the UK as they are in the US, but they are fab! Kefir is another favorite. For a treat, we make moon milk that includes cinnamon and turmeric, another ingredient great for reducing inflammation.
