Lilliana Vazquez isn't a morning person. (“I’m more of a middle of the night person,” she laughs.) Even so, as the co-host of E! News and Pop of the Morning, Lilliana begins her day while you’re (hopefully) still sleeping. What’s it like to get up before the sun? We asked her.

45 A.M. My alarm goes off. I wish I could say the first thing I do is roll over and kiss my husband, but I check my Twitter feed. When your show is live at 7 A.M… you kind of have to make yourself a morning person. I still hit snooze in the morning, but this is my dream job, [so] there’s not a second in the morning where I wish I had more sleep.

00 A.M. If it’s a non-hair washing morning, I go through my normal beauty routine: I use eye patches (to combat the dark circles) and then I wash my face. I don’t have to do my own makeup, so I just throw my hair in a low bun, put on sweats and my glasses to make myself look normal. I pack everything the night before so I’m not stressed about getting out of the door.

30 A.M. Work very generously provides a car service for us. I use commute time to connect with my friends and family. I’ll fire off check-in texts and reply to personal messages. I like to use this time to keep connections strong. It’s an important 20 minutes for me… You have to prioritize the things that are important to you, and these connections are paramount to me.

00 A.M. First stop [when I get into the office] is our morning meeting where we go through the rundown of the show. I do two shows for E! News, and most of [the show] is decided the morning of. I’m a news junkie, and I’m always looking at what is trending and what people are talking about. Whether it’s culture or politics, I just want to be informed for the day. It’s nice because it opens your eyes up to what’s happening.

30 A.M. I’m in hair and makeup. I have to be in “full glam” on camera, with hair, makeup, and a dress–the whole process takes about an hour.

30 A.M. We are getting mic’d up and ready for our first show, E! News, which runs weekday mornings at 7.

59 A.M. I like to take 30 seconds before we go live to look at everyone and say, “We’re gonna kill this.” I don’t just say it to other people, but to myself as well. I think as women especially, we don’t give ourselves enough credit and we really should.

30 A.M. This is when I’ll finally eat breakfast. I’m not a big breakfast person and I try not to eat when I get up because it’s so early, I won’t feel good. I usually pack my breakfast and eat it after the 7:30 show.
