Natalie Ellis is the owner and CEO of BossBabe, one of the largest communities of ambitious women in the world (maybe you’re one of their over 500,000 followers on Instagram?), as well as Oh My Glow, a superfood supplement company. She’s accomplished quite a lot at only 26-years-old, and doesn’t plan on stopping her momentum any time soon. This Brit-born Bay Area resident just recently launched The Société, an exclusive online membership club where female entrepreneurs go to connect, build and grow (watch out for our founder Daniella’s e-mail growth tutorial, coming soon!). Wondering what this go-getter does after a long day at the office? She shares her highly productive nightly routine below.
30 P.M. I’m normally finishing up in the office at this time and starting to cook dinner. I’ll put a podcast on my speakers whilst I cook and start to wind down. My go-to dishes are normally mushroom risotto, pasta with avocado sauce (I love the lentil pasta from Trader Joe’s!) or Thai yellow curry with rice or cauliflower rice. I always cook from scratch with good ingredients. I think it’s SO important to nourish your mind and body with good food.
P.M. My husband gets home and we sit down for about 60 minutes having dinner and chatting about our day. We both work a lot, so this sacred time is super important to us. We light candles, often have a small glass of wine and just take time to be present and enjoy dinner. I don’t believe in rushed meals!
P.M. I’ll usually spend some time inside The BossBabe Société’s Facebook group answering questions and chatting with members. This is great uninterrupted time for me to help coach members through their blocks or celebrate their wins with them!
30 P.M. I pull out my daily planner and start planning tomorrow. I’ll list my 3 top priorities and then underneath that I’ll list out anything else that I’ve got on. I’ll also skim my calendar and make sure I have clear agendas for every meeting. I like to start every day fully prepared so that I can get to my desk, set an intention and get straight to work.
30 P.M. I put my diffuser on my bedside table and mix up an oil blend – it’s normally lavender, eucalyptus and frankincense. Then I’ll take a shower, do my skincare routine and then do a meditation before bed so that I can leave the work day behind and have a great sleep. My nightly skincare must-haves are a good Vitamin C oil, moisturiser and retinol.
P.M. I head to bed at 10 and aim to be asleep by 10:30, as I wake up at 6:30 – it’s important for me to get enough sleep! When in bed, we both list the three things we’re most grateful for from our day and spend a bit more quality time together! (Often chatting business ideas!). I use the red light on my oil diffuser as this helps to trigger melatonin production and eases me to sleep very quickly.
