Promise Tangeman is the southern California-based founder and CEO of the extremely popular web design firm Go Live HQ. Beyond selling custom website themes, her company helps entrepreneurs launch their dream business as quickly as possible, so that founders can focus on doing what they were made to do. When she’s not working, you can find her eating a donut, playing with her adorable golden doodle named Parker, or maybe doing both at the same time. Wondering how this creative CEO ends her busy workday? She breaks it down below.
P.M. This is the time I am usually finishing up any calls or meetings for the day. One work/life balance hack I’ve discovered is scheduling one-off meetings or calls near the end of my work day. That call or meeting puts a cap on my work rhythm, creating a planned interruption of sorts, which makes it easier to stop working for the day. I tend to be a workaholic, so I can let my work drag into the night if I’m not strategic about it.
30 P.M. Getting ready to work out! I love wearing Zella workout attire. It’s less expensive than Lululemon, but still has a cool vibe, with clean lines and nice fabric. My husband gets home and we drive over to Crossfit together. I love the car ride over because we usually start to catch up on the day and exchange stories.
P.M. Crossfit! One thing I love about the Crossfit workout is the community aspect. Everyone arrives at the same time and completes the same workout together at the same time! That accountability challenges me and knowing that everyone else is doing it too makes me work harder and push myself farther! I usually finish feeling exhausted and that physical activity wears away the stress of the day.
P.M. My husband and I head out of Crossfit and brainstorm what we’re going to have for dinner. We get home and usually make some sort of protein and veggies, then top it off with a nice glass of wine. My favorite is a red wine blend called Tribunal from Trader Joe’s. It’s a good price point for a great quality wine. We linger at dinner a little longer talking about life, sharing stories, challenges, and encouraging things that happened throughout the day. Our dinner chats are a really special part of our day together and something that we REALLY look forward to.
P.M. At this time, I usually shower and change into my pjs! I love Bed Head Shampoo and Conditioner. My PJ’s are a long button down sleep shirt from GAP body and a pair of soft black leggings. I usually check in on my social media, emails, and finish any smaller, quick tasks that I didn’t get done for the day.
P.M. Every now and then, I tune into a TV show toward the end of the night. The three that I like watching are This Is Us, Designated Survivor, and The Bachelor.
P.M. Around this time I’m ready for bed! I let my dog out in the backyard for a minute and shut all the lights down and locks the doors. I head upstairs to wash my face. I love Rodan & Fields Redefine regimen as well as my electric Sonicare toothbrush. My husband loves getting the Young living essential oils diffuser going. Our favorite mix right now is 1 part pachouli, 1 part lavender, and 1 part citrus fresh. I climb into bed with my journal notebook and write out my intentions for the next day. I usually list out only 3 to 5 important things to accomplish. I also include what/who I was thankful for that day. I end the night praying and focusing on getting my mind, heart, and soul in a positive, thankful place in prep for the next day.
