Candace Reels is an activist, intersectional feminist, and founder of Female Collective, an online platform/clothing brand that is all about celebrating, empowering, uplifting, and supporting all women. That’s something we can definitely get behind. Born and raised in LA, Candace started Female Collective originally as a way to motivate herself daily–now the platform has grown into an established company that has been featured in top publications, and has allowed Candace opportunities to inspire thousands of others, which she accomplished as one of the organizers for the Women’s March in Los Angeles in 2017. Wondering how this entrepreneur and activist spends her morning? Scroll below.

8:30 A.M. I wake up naturally at around this time, and do the one thing that you shouldn’t do and that is go on Instagram. It’s become such a bad habit, especially after starting Female Collective.  But my excuse for going on there right away is that it’s for work.

8:45 A.M. I will then read aloud my affirmations. I made it very easy for myself and wrote them down on a piece of paper, so I will just grab it off my nightstand and read them before getting out of bed. It’s a form of self-care and self-love–as well as a great way to start off your day on a good, positive note.

9 A.M. I will then meditate for 5-10 minutes.  It sounds short, but taking those quick minutes to really be with your thoughts really helps me set my intentions for the day.

9:10 A.M. Around this time, I will brush my teeth and then do my 10 minute skincare routine. I use my favorite natural cleanser Kale Detox by PacificaThayer’s Witch Hazel in Rose Petal,Andalou 1000 Roses Daily Shade, and last but not least, I spray on some Heritage Store Rosewater and Glycerin. It really makes my skin feel so fresh and ready for the day.

9:20 A.M. This is right about the time I check emails, DMs, and inventory for Female Collective. I will also go into my office and put on some music. Depending how I feel, the music I listen to could be Nina Simone, Anderson Pak, Kendrick Lamar, anything from Motown, or Rihanna (of course!) Also depending on how backed up I am in emails, I will usually give myself 30 minutes to an hour to get through them.

10 A.M. By this time, I’m usually very hungry and will take a break from work to make myself some homemade matcha (very LA of me) and a yogurt bowl with my favorite non-dairy yogurt Kite Hill, along with granola, fresh fruit, and honey.

10:30 A.M. Depending on if I’m working from home or have a meeting, this is right about the time I will head out and get the rest of my day going!
