Tanesha Awasthi is the founder of Girl With Curves, a multi-media award-winning blog that’s been inspiring women to love their curves since 2011. By sharing tips that range from style advice to beauty must-haves, and even playlists, Tanesha has built quite the impressive social following. Tanesha’s success prompted her and her husband to leave their jobs in tech to run Girl With Curves full-time–and if being a successful influencer on multiple platforms didn’t seem time-consuming enough, Tanesha is also mother to two babies, and an adorable dog. Wondering how this impressive San Francisco-based founder starts her day? Find out below.
7:30 A.M. I wake up to my 5-month-old daughter, Madina, whom I call “Minnie,” giggling and smiling every morning at 7:30 A.M. on the dot. Our body-clocks are very much in sync, as she still isn’t sleeping through the night! I take her out of her crib and we lounge for a few minutes in my bed, as I sort through emails on my phone and she plays with her favorite doll.
7:45 A.M. After brushing my teeth, typically with Minnie in one arm, we make our way to the kitchen and meet my husband Dave, who’s just getting home from his morning workout. Then, I start preparing breakfast: a bottle for Minnie, a hash brown, slice of toast and orange juice for Narayan (our 4-year-old son), dermatologist-prescribed dog food for Kingston (our 5-year-old English Bulldog), a protein shake for Dave, and french vanilla and almond granola with soy milk for me.
7:55 A.M. After breakfast, Dave gets Narayan ready for school and I prepare Minnie’s bag and get her dressed for Nana’s house (my mom has run the most well-known daycare in our town for over 35 years, so the kids are happy with her and other kids their age Monday through Friday, while Dave and I work).
8 A.M. Dave and Narayan are off to school and I’m on my way to my parents’ house with Minnie, typically still in my pajamas, if not workout clothes.
8:30 A.M. Narayan arrives at school and Minnie and I arrive at daycare. I usually don’t leave until 9 A.M., since I’m busy catching up with my parents and my two youngest sisters before they leave for work.
9 A.M. I’m on my way back home to start my day (or if it’s Tuesday or Thursday, I’m on my way to the gym).
9:30 A.M. I’m in and out of the shower in 7 minutes flat (unless I’m washing my hair!) and dressed in less than 5. I skip makeup most days unless we’re shooting pictures, but I never skip skincare. I cleanse every morning with Peter Thomas Roth’s Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel, tone with Neutrogena Alcohol-Free Toner, followed by applying REN Anti-Aging eye cream, Boscia Oil-Free Daily Moisturizer and sunscreen.
10 A.M. Dave and I sit down for a morning meeting to discuss what we have on the calendar for the day. If it’s Monday, we go over content for the following week and make sure we have imagery, write-ups, and links for posts going live on the blog. While no day is the same, I typically work on blog and social media content every day and we shoot 1-2 times per week.
