Paige Solomon is the founder of Dream Machine, the interactive experience in NYC that has become the ultimate Instagram-worthy destination. Before starting her brand, Paige worked in experiential marketing, and ventured out on her own in her mid-twenties. Now, she runs a venue that sees over a thousand people a day, and manages a staff of twenty-five. While being at the helm of her company can be challenging–Paige works seven days a week, since Dream Machine is open on Saturdays and Sundays–she still maintains that becoming an entrepreneur was the best decision she’s ever made. To find out what Paige does after a long day, keep scrolling.
6:30 P.M. Pick up Dig Inn a few blocks away from Dream Machine and head home! I try to work in the office from 9:30am to 6pm. If you work for yourself then you know that even when you leave work, you never really leave work. Nonetheless, I try to get home before or around 7pm.
7 P.M. Take my pups on a quick walk with my boyfriend. We have two! It’s a tight squeeze in our tiny NY railroad apartment but we make it work. Side note: my boyfriend works at Dream Machine. We call him the Jeff-of-all-trades because he just holds down the fort. If you’re reading this, you’re probably wondering if working together and living together is hard. It definitely has its challenges, but I have to admit it’s a lot easier than I expected!
7:15 P.M. Feed the pups and then feed ourselves. Plop down on the couch and endlessly scroll through Netflix while we eat our dinner and argue over what to watch. **give me all the crime shows possible**
7:45 P.M. If I’ve worked out that day (I try to work out 3-4 times a week) I’ll take a very hot bath and read for about 20 minutes. Since becoming my own boss, I really love reading books about other entrepreneurs. I sadly finished every Malcolm Gladwell book, so I’m currently reading Originals by Adam Grant. Then I’ll properly shower like a civilized human.
8:15 P.M. Brush my teeth, brush my hair, wash my face with Cetaphil Daily Cleanser, and then lather my face with an ungodly amount of coconut oil. I’ve tried every expensive face wash, face cream, eye cream out there. For me, Cetaphil and coconut oil just works. For spot treatments, I use Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay with apple cider vinegar.
8:30 P.M. Plop back down on the couch. Check in with my staff at Dream Machine to make sure everything is running smoothly. Resume crime television show.
9:30 P.M. Get in bed! I try to go to sleep pretty early since my days require a lot of hustle and mental capacity. I think my body and mind know I need my rest because I’ve been sleeping the best I have in years! But let me tell you, as soon as I wake up around 7am, it’s like the scene in Bruce Almighty when he finally goes to answer the prayers and they come flooding in by the millions haha.
