Katerina Schneider is the Founder and CEO of Ritual, a company reinventing the multivitamin. Ritual’s products are filled with only essential nutrients–and are vegan, gluten-free, allergen-free, as well as non-GMO. That’s about as clean as it gets. A business born from Katerina’s obsession with the ingredients she puts in and on her body, Ritual has now grown into a brand that’s all over your Instagram feed, and has been reviewed by top industry publications such as Forbes, Shape, Business Insider, and more. The wellness boss shares that her biggest focus right now is “trying to balance building a company and raising a family.” Below, she shares what her mornings look like.
5:30 A.M. When I wake up, depending on when my kids wake me up.
7 A.M. I’ve been trying to work out 4-5 times a week from 7-8am. It’s really hard to get out of bed in the mornings when you have a 5-month-old and toddler who don’t sleep, but the older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve prioritized self-care. My workout of choice has been a mix of strength training (Phoenix Effect), pilates (Claudia Martin) and cycling (Cycle House).
8 A.M. Breakfast with the kids. I love hearty breakfasts like making porridges out of grains like millet, which is high in magnesium. I also drink a matcha latte with oat milk (Oatly) or homemade nut milk in the mornings with my breakfast. I really enjoy the ceremony of making matcha, the key is to use very little water and make a thick paste so there are no clumps.
8:30 A.M. Take my Ritual vitamins. They contain everything I need as a vegan, from D3 to Omega3s.
8:45 A.M. Low maintenance skincare routine. I use True Botanicals’ Pure Radiance Oil and Repair Serum and wash my face with Osea’s cleansing mud. I will top everything off with Veridatta’s non nano zinc oxide tinted sunscreenI’m also obsessed with Nucifera’s “The Balm”, I slather that all over my body.
9 A.M. I drive to work and listen to kcrw. I also use the willow pump to make breastmilk while I drive not to waste any time. Sometimes I Uber since my husband and I share one car. We prefer to get around the city on foot or bike.
9:30 A.M. I begin my day at the office by powering through any emails from the night before. We use Slack at the office and I try to catch up on any messages from the team. We are also really close to the destroyer on Hayden tract and I will walk there with a team member and catch up along the train path.
10 A.M. I’ll Postmates a green goddess ice cream from Erwehon as a snack or something energizing and nutrient-dense.
