Kendra Scott is the CEO and founder of her extremely successful namesake accessories business. Started with just $500, Kendra Scott is now valued at more than one billion dollars, and has over 75 retail locations. Talk about impressive. Her achievements earned her the prestigious Ernst & Young’s National Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2017. Besides being a business maverick, Kendra is known for her support of women and children’s charities, having donated millions of dollars to various causes. The trailblazer told us, “I am a mom, jewelry designer, and CEO living in Austin, Texas. Some days it feels impossible to balance all three, but over the years I’ve learned the importance of forgiving yourself for not being perfect. As women, we put so much pressure on ourselves to do it all perfectly. But I believe it’s so much more important to wake up every morning and say, ‘Today I will be brave, I will dream big, and I will do my best.'” That’s something we can definitely get behind. Below, Kendra tells us her morning routine.
7:00 A.M. I wake up, give my husband Matt a kiss, and make my way around the house to wake my three boys up for school. Then I’ll typically find a quiet corner to sit and check a few morning emails.
7:30 A.M. Every morning we sit down as a family and have breakfast (if my 5-year-old had a choice, it would be French toast every day!). No matter how busy our schedules may get, I always appreciate the moments we get to spend together before we all set off for the day.
8:00 A.M. The boys head to school, and I get dressed for a quick at-home workout. Pilates is my go-to, but if it’s a nice warm Austin day, I love to work out in our backyard pool.
9:30 A.M. Time to get ready for the day! I’ll throw on whatever outfit matches my schedule that day (a dress and heels for a board meeting, or jeans and sneakers for a soccer game) and, of course, a few jewels to match. Just put a half-caff skim latte in my hand, and I’m ready for anything!
